Bike Tour Information

Depending on the Mojave Desert heat, we suggest an 8:30 am pick-up during the cooler months. During the summer months, we will not pick-up guests later than 7:00 am in order to ensure the safety of our guests and our guides.

Hiking Tour Information

Hikes are tailored to the dynamics of your group and interests. Our professional guides will keep your attention on the sights instead of on the map. Let us help you plan a great Nevada backcountry outing for you, your family, and friends. Explore the desert and its diverse geography in trusted company. Whether you are seeking a short afternoon stroll or an all day adventure, we have a hike for you. We have been guiding locals and travelers in and around Vegas for over 50 years! Call us or stop into the shop to discuss the variety of trips we can put together. 

All of our guided hiking tours occur within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and our routes include: Calico Tanks, Ice Box Canyon, Pine Creek & Willow Springs, La Madre Springs, and Turtle Head Springs.

  • Trail hikes ranging from 3-6 miles and rock scrambling adventures averaging 2-3 miles with levels from moderate to strenuous (based on the active person).

  • Total tour time for hike is approximately 5 hrs., including travel time.

  • Minimum age for hikers is 10 yrs.old.

  • Hats, sunglasses & sunscreen are highly recommended!

  • Do not forget your camera!

  • Tour includes round-trip transportation from Las Vegas, snacks, water, the use of a pack and your fabulous hiking guide.

Amy Farnsworth

Amy is the one that has been answering all of your scheduling questions for the past six years. She has also been a guide for McGhie’s since 2006. She is an excellent and patient instructor for new riders but likes to tear it up a bit, too.

Bob Sawyer Las Vegas Bicycle Tours

Bob Sawyer

Bob Sawyer is a lifelong road cyclist who discovered mountain biking when he moved to Las Vegas in 2014. Bob is excellent at introducing new riders to the sport as well as showing our more experienced guests trails that are custom-tailored to their abilities. Bob has been guiding tours for McGhie’s since 2015.

Rich DeYoung Las Vegas Bicycle Tours

Rich DeYoung

When a rider asks for something “epic," Rich is the guide we call. He is retired from the US Air Force and has found the perfect second career. When he's not guiding bike tours, he's usually riding bikes, reading about bikes, or planning his next bike adventure. Rich has been a guide for McGhie’s since 2015.

Bobby Westmoreland Las Vegas Bicycle Tours

Bobby Westmoreland

Bobby has been with McGhie’s as a guide from the beginning and is a guest favorite. He is an excellent teacher, cheerleader, and storyteller. With a background in BMX, he has some mad skills on the bike. He is able to tailor a ride to any experience level from beginner to expert. Bobby is a Las Vegas native.

Chris Weaver Las Vegas Hiking Tours

Chris Weaver

Chris Weaver is retired and has been living in Las Vegas since 2014. He spends his free time rock scrambling, hiking, and camping in Red Rock NCA, the Mt. Charleston area, and the surrounding deserts, mountains and National Parks of the southwest. Chris has been leading hikes for McGhie's since 2017.

John Gonsalves Las Vegas Hiking Tours

John Gonsalves

John is a retired photographer and a retired US Army veteran. Living in Las Vegas since 2011, he has become an avid hiker and rock scrambler in the beautiful Red Rock Canyon area. He now spends the majority of his time organizing and leading hikes. John has been leading hikes for McGhie's since 2014.

Dave Durham Las Vegas Hiking Tours

Dave Durham

Dave was born in Dalton, Georgia and joined the US Army at age 18. After 21 years in the military, he became a registered nurse with a specialty in Emergency Medicine. He has been hiking in the Red Rock National Conservation Area for more than 5 years. He has been a tour guide for McGhie’s since 2015.

Cancellation Policy

With a 24 hour notice, we will refund in full. McGhie’s will cancel a tour due to weather conditions or wind advisory. If we are unable to reschedule the tour, we will issue a full refund. Our guests should not be penalized for a weather event. To cancel your tour, call Tour Manager Amy at (702)445-3353. A FULL REFUND OF YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL BE PROCESSED.
